Have you seen the show Rehab Addict? Have you heard of Nicole Curtis? If not you are missing out on some seriously amazing renovations. She is so inspirational for what could be done right here is Saskatoon. We have a lot of history in Saskatoon and preserving/restoring it to it's original glory is exactly what Nicole does. And in my opinion is what needs to happen more in the gorgeous homes in Saskatoon. In fills are great, but when there is history to be saved we should do that as well.
Rehab Addict has to be my favourite renovation or home improvement shows on tv these days. She restores and renovates entire homes, stunning bathrooms, enchanting dining areas, historical oddities, and phenomenal kitchens. She has a fantastic sense for what is worth preserving, what needs to go, and what little modern accent you can add so as not to sacrifice any style or comfort.
So why am I going on and on about a renovation expert who is not Alchemy Renovations? Well for one she is a super cute, intensely driven woman who is kicking butt in an industry that doesn't have a lot of female participants. She get's her hands dirty and her muscles working on every home improvement project she works on. And for two, well just look at her work! Even if historical antiques are not your thing there is no denying the beauty in these homes and rooms that she restores. I hope by looking at some of these examples you can start to dream of what can be done in your own home.
One of the best things about restoring homes to their classic original state is the quality of the products. The cliche "They just don't build 'em like they used to." unfortunately applies often to new builds. It can be a large investment but it is putting your money into quality and a look that is timeless that can express how you feel about your home. The history of your home is something you can be a part of as well as enjoy living in every day. Alchemy Renovations is accustom to working with the challenges of older homes, and we are available to sit down with you to discuss preserving the history of your home.
